In 1984, President Ronald Reagan signed a proclamation that declared July as National Ice Cream Month and the third Sunday in July as National Ice Cream Day. In the proclamation, Reagan calls ice cream “the perfect dessert,” and we couldn’t agree more. - Staying in business for more than 50 years while remaining family-owned is no small feat, yet many U.S. ice cream manufacturers have accomplished just that.
